What does WORM mean?

Check out LTO Ultrium products at Polyline.
WORM = Write Once, Read Many.
WORM stands for Write Once, Read Many.  It means your data storage can be written to once (not edited or saved "over") but you can read from it multiple times. This is a valuable feature for archiving because you can't accidentally erase something and no one can tamper with the existing files.
Super DLT and LTO systems are among the storage methods that can be used as either write once or write many. You should check with your vendor to see how to benefit from these systems' WORM capabilities.
In the case of LTO, WORM capability was added with the 3rd generation (LTO Ultrium 3). Again, this means an LTO-3 or later drive will not erase or overwrite data on a WORM cartridge but it can read the data. What makes the LTO WORM cartridge different than ordinary LTO is the cartridge memory can "tell" the drive it's a WORM tape. The servo tracks are also different so the drive can verify that the data has not been modified.
